Trex Transcend Tropical How-to Install Overview

Our latest Transcend colors, Spiced Rum and Lava Rock, both offer the look of tropical hardwoods -- right down to the variation of color and streaking that makes tropical hardwoods so unique. To achieve this look, the Trex manufacturing process combines a base color and a streaking agent which is mixed randomly to produce variety in the intensity of the streaking, intended to mimic the look of authentic exotic wood species.

To ensure an appealing mix of light and dark tones across the entire deck surface and to highlight the natural color and grain variations inherent to these tropical colors, we recommend that contractors mix and match all tropical boards on the jobsite, laying them out to achieve the optimal appearance, as Dave Lombardo, owner of American Deck describes in this video.
